About
We create advertising in all its forms. Our philosophy is summed up by Truth Well Told: a belief that powerful emotional truths, turned into compelling stories, have the power to transform brands. We are in Melbourne and Sydney, and all over the world.
Heritage
McCann first opened its doors in Sydney, Australia in December of 1959. Offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand soon followed.
Looking back at its achievements since those early days, there’s no denying the agency’s history is steeped in some of Australian advertising’s most memorable moments.
Iconic campaigns such as ‘Louie the Fly’, ‘The Milky Bar Kid’, and the ‘It’s Time’ campaign for the Australian Labor party are a true testament to McCann’s trailblazing legacy. As is the famous giant ‘Coke Sign’ in Sydney’s Kings Cross – a landmark that has long been part of local residents’ vernacular.
Today, this legacy continues as we look forward to the future…
If history has taught us anything, it’s that staying relevant in a constantly evolving market is the biggest challenge our industry faces. This challenge is whole-heartedly embraced at McCann.
Although tradition echoes within our walls, refreshing our outlook and revitalising our talent base is key. After all, the people within our walls make us who we are.
Network
Technology has empowered consumers to dictate the content they want to spend time with, as well as how and where. The result is a constantly evolving advertising landscape. Our nimble size – currently around 60 staff in Sydney – and strong digital focus mean we can quickly adapt and remain relevant to this landscape.
And although we operate with the nimble and personal approach you’d expect from a mid-sized agency, we’re also able to call upon enormous additional resources, thanks to our global network.
We’re part of McCann Worldgroup – an organization that has over 22,000 employees worldwide and takes in agency brands such as Jack Morton, Weber Shandwick, Future Brand, and Octagon.
We are are all connected through our proprietary ideas and insights sharing platform Neural Network.
Neural Network allows us to draw on not just the expertise our 22,000 colleagues across the globe have in the workplace, but also to tap into their outside interests and other specializations. This adds a powerful tool to our arsenal and means that, when you walk in the door at McCann Sydney, there’s a whole lot more resource on offer compared to other Australian agencies our size.
